Operation Meow
Sarah Howard is an extraordinary woman who never married or had any children, but instead dedicated her life to being the neighborhood mother to both kids and animals. Every summer, she delighted the children in the neighborhood by handing out daily popsicles. She also never turned away an animal in need.
Currently, Miss Sarah is in the hospital fighting for her life, but the prognosis is grim. In keeping with Miss Sarah's charitable spirit, efforts are being made to take in the cats that reside in her home. Her wish was that they would all be able to stay together and go somewhere that they would have a forever home. Devil Dog Ranch is determined to make that happen. While the exact number of cats is uncertain, nine feline companions have been counted so far.
Sarah Howard's legacy of love and compassion lives on through those who continue her mission of caring for all creatures.
We need your help!
Taking in such a large number of cats is a huge undertaking for Devil Dog Ranch, a nonprofit organization that is currently 99.9% funded by the founders, Randal and Tina Silva.
We have also discovered the cats have not received veterinary care for some time and are not up to date on vaccinations, so they will need to be evaluated and treated by a veterinarian. We require assistance with the initial and ongoing veterinary expenses.
Additionally, help is needed to set up the quarantine area for the cats at Devil Dog Ranch. We have created an Amazon Wish List for items such as scratching posts and cat hides as well as some toys. We are also in search of volunteers who are passionate about providing love and care to these feline residents. Your support and involvement are crucial in ensuring the well-being of these cats during their stay at Devil Dog Ranch.

Penny the Dog Needs a Home
While we are able to take in Miss Sarah's cats, unforunately we are unable to take in Penny an older Lab Mix. We are looking to find a furever home. She is a sweet girl who is great around cats (she lives with 9!) but we are unsure if she has been around children or other dogs lately. Sadly, Buck who is the only dog that calls Devil Dog Ranch "home" is not friendly with other dogs.
We are working on getting Penny up to date on vaccinations and preventions so that she will be ready for her new home. Donations toward her veterinary care are appreciated.
We are currently in contact with other organizations that may be able to help Penny as they may have access to more resources. If you are interested in adopting her or may have a connection to an animal adoption organization please reach out!
